It’s been a while since we wrote a blog about LED mirrors so here is an update on different styles and trends plus our ‘’what’s hot for 2023’’.
At Designer Bathrooms Plus we get to see the latest products as they come to market and our experts can advise you on the best LED mirrors for your new build or renovation. First tip is NOT to buy online which sounds a little goofy as we sell a lot of products online to customers all around Australia but mirrors and especially LED mirrors are very delicate and even though some suppliers like Remer supply incredibly strong packaging we are now directing enquiries from people who are not local to our store to purchase closer to where they live due to issue with breakages in transit. Where possible, it also helps to see the color tone and warmth differences in store as there are a lot of variations.
There are 2 categories for LED mirrors and that’s Backlit and Frontlit and just to make things fun some models are Back and Frontlit at the same time. Within these 2 categories are options for colored aluminum frames and shapes which include, round, oval, square, rectangular, arch, pill and stadium. On top of this there are now LED mirrors with storage cabinets which adds an entirely new dimension to the bathroom. At the moment, all of the storage options are front LED to give consistency of light otherwise if the storage box at the rear was LED lit you would get strange reflective shapes on the wall, usually the shape of the box which is square.
BACKLIT LED MIRRORS
Backlit mirrors are the most popular style, incredibly versatile and usually compatible with any wall type. They offer a soft glow onto your wall tiles and depending on the model has a cool white light but some can change light warmth at the touch of a button while others have the option to have built in demister and Bluetooth audio so you can have music in the bathroom. This is one of the reasons why it is important to see LED mirrors in your local bathrooms store and not rely on images from a website. The true nature of LED lights on mirrors are best appreciated in person. Talk to one of the experts at Designer Bathrooms Plus about your next bathroom renovation in Tweed Heads or Byron Bay.
FRONTLIT LED MIRRORS
This style of mirror will traditionally have a frame around it to push the LED light to the front of the mirror. The frames are available in aluminum, timber and concrete. There are some Frontlit LED mirrors that have no frames and they bounce a small amount of light on the wall to give a soft glow. The ADP Shine below is an example of this and it is great for putting makeup on with it’s 6500k of luminance. Most LED mirrors are good for at least 20,000 hours so if you use it 1 hour per day, every day, you will get decades of use from the built in LED strip so our tip is to speak with an expert at Designer Bathrooms Plus about the LED mirrors with the best warranty and usage life.
LED MIRROR SHAVING CABINETS
Having a mirrored cabinet will help you save space in your bathroom. This space saving item will allow you the option to use a wall-hung basin instead of a vanity if you wish, whilst still having room for your personal belongings. As you can see from the options below there are many shapes and sizes and they are all front lit LED so it is important to get the correct shape and style for your bathroom, so speak to an expert at Designer Bathrooms Plus about your next bathroom renovation or new home build in Tweed Heads.
WHAT’S HOT FOR 2023
As LED mirrors become more popular, there are a lot of extra shapes and sizes hitting the market and there is nothing BIGGER than the Great Great Gatsby from Remer with their 1800mm tall LED mirror which is ideal for your walk-in robe. Available in matte white or black framing, this mirror looks incredibly impressive and is very practical. Touchless operation is also coming in 2023 which will enable people to turn on and off their LED mirror with the wave of the hand and where applicable, adjust to warmth of he LED or dim it. This will eliminate fingerprints on the LED mirror. The team at Designer Bathrooms Plus are your experts in LED mirrors for your next bathroom renovation in Tweed Heads or Byron Bay. We have a large selection of working LED mirrors on display for you to look at.
CLEANING YOUR LED MIRROR
Things in life should be simple and cleaning your LED mirror is no different. A clean microfibre cloth is all you need and do not use any sprays as the chemicals in them can cause the reflective backing material on the glass to deteriorate.
